Leadership

Inspire well-rounded, ethical leaders

Rationale:

An added value of an Oakridge education includes the development of a leadership mindset.

Strategies:

  • Model and teach a comprehensive public speaking program at all grade levels.

  • Seek all opportunities to inject real-world learning into the curriculum, specifically focused on teamwork and collaboration and, when possible, authentic audiences.

  • Compile a catalog of service learning opportunities and enhance activities across all divisions.

  • Bring alumni and current students together for projects or curricular support.

  • Inspire faculty and staff to lead in their classrooms and offices, targeting specific opportunities to grow independent school leaders and imbue greater job satisfaction and morale.

  • Develop an Enrollment Management Committee, including aspiring school leaders, that focuses on student quantity, quality, composition and revenue, while also ensuring that retention continues as a top priority for all employees.

  • Train an admissions office volunteer network that includes students, past and current parents, alumni and faculty.
